More than 2 people die of skin cancer every hour in the United States

1 in 5 Americans will develop skin cancer by age 70.

More people are diagnosed with skin cancer each year in the U.S. than all other cancers combined.

In the past decade (2014-2024), the number of new invasive melanoma cases diagnosed annually increased by 32%!

The annual cost of treating skin cancers in the U.S. is estimated at $8.1 billion! About $4.8 billion for nonmelanoma skin cancers, and $3.3 billion for melanoma.

An estimated 8,290 people will die of melanoma in 2024. Of those, 5,430 will be men, and 2,860 will be women.

80% of skin aging is caused by the sun. Ultraviolet (UV) radiation is a proven carcinogen.
