Discover the heart behind Crown Cover by understanding its origin story. Founded by Jordan Hauck, a two-time stage 4 melanoma survivor, our mission stems from personal experience and a profound journey.
In 2013, melanoma entered Jordan’s life, starting in his lymph nodes and later spreading to his lungs and liver. Against daunting odds, he triumphed thanks to a clinical trial at the University of Iowa Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center.
A decade later, melanoma returned, catching Jordan by surprise as it had no visible primary source (melanoma with an unknown primary). Returning to Iowa City and benefiting from significant advancements in immunotherapy, Jordan went from metastatic melanoma to currently showing no evidence of disease. His journey underscores the vital role of research and funding over the past decade.
Following his initial battle, Jordan dedicated himself to preventing others from enduring similar challenges. Crown Cover was born from this commitment; every purchase supports Jordan’s vision. Together with his nonprofit, The Cancer Bucket Foundation, we’ve raised and donated $13K to advance skin cancer research and prevention.
At Crown Cover, we challenge misconceptions and advocate for proactive skin health. Because when it comes to melanoma, dismissing it as “just skin cancer” is not an option.
From Diagnosis to Hope: My Melanoma Cancer Journey Founder Jordan Hauck’s Melanoma Journey I hardly knew what Melanoma was when I was first diagnosed with skin cancer in 2013 after finding a lump in my right armpit. The lump had not bothered me, other than the fact that it continued to get bigger every month.
